The Peachtree Ridge Lions entered their tilt with the Discovery Titans with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Peachtree Ridge claimed a resounding 62-0 win over Discovery at home. Considering Peachtree Ridge has won six matches by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Peachtree Ridge found their leader in underclassman Darnell Kelly, who threw for 245 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.3 yards per attempt, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylon Miller, who rushed for 45 yards and a touchdown.
Peachtree Ridge's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.5 points per game. As for Discovery, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
Peachtree Ridge will head out on the road to face off against Norcross at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Norcross' favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three games. As for Discovery, they will be playing at home against North Gwinnett at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. North Gwinnett presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Discovery in Georgia (North Gwinnett is ranked 51st, while Discovery is ranked 387th).
