The Lockwood Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Marionville Comets at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Lockwood didn't have too much trouble with Pleasant Hope at home as they won 48-31.
Meanwhile, Marionville didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Ash Grove on Monday, but they still walked away with a 57-52 victory.
Lucy Newberry was her usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Dally Pomeroy, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Lockwood pushed their record up to 15-7-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Marionville, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.
Lockwood took a serious blow against Marionville when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 69-30. Can Lockwood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
