The Neptune Scarlet Fliers lost against the Toms River East Raiders back in October of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Neptune was the victim of a rough 31-8 loss at the hands of Toms River East.
Toms River East got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nevin Hart out in front who rushed for 39 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Anthony Demarco, who rushed for 40 yards and a touchdown.
Neptune has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Toms River East, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.
Neptune will head out on the road to face off against Barnegat at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Jersey (Barnegat is ranked 259th, while Neptune is ranked 272nd). As for Toms River East, they will be playing at home against Lacey Township at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lacey Township is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
