The Prairie View Thunderhawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight defeat. They took a 66-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Brighton. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Several Thunderhawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Randall Rogos, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Rogos hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Anthony Ulibarri was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
Vance Martinez continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Brighton, scoring 25 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Martinez continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Austin Sickler, who scored 17 points along with two steals.
Prairie View's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Brighton, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-11.
Prairie View will face off against the Red Wolves at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Allowing an average of 56.7 points per game, Loveland has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this match. As for Brighton, they will be playing at home against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Erie focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday.
