The Wilson Prep Tigers's nine-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Friday. Couldn't have asked for a better start to 2024 than the 74-6 blowout they got on the road against KIPP P. Wilson Prep's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Wilson Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nakiya Boston, who scored 12 points along with seven steals and five assists. Those five assists set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Braswell, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Wilson Prep's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-8. As for KIPP P, their defeat was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wilson Prep will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Weldon at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th. Weldon will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for KIPP P, they will head out on the road to face off against Rocky Mount Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
