Mattamuskeet is on a four-game streak of home losses, Columbia a six-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Mattamuskeet Lakers will take on the Columbia Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mattamuskeet comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last eight games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Last Friday, Mattamuskeet had to suffer through a rough 59-14 loss at the hands of Cape Hatteras. Mattamuskeet was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-7.
Meanwhile, Columbia earned a 35-25 victory over Hobgood Charter on Friday.
Mattamuskeet's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Columbia, their win bumped their record up to 2-10.
Mattamuskeet lost to Columbia at home by a decisive 37-21 margin when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Mattamuskeet avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
