The Troy Trojans were the 46-39 winner over the Tippecanoe Red Devils when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Troy took a 47-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tippecanoe on Friday. Troy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Tippecanoe was led to victory by Jackson Smith and CJ Bailey. Smith dropped a double-double on 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Bailey scored 14 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Bailey has scored at least 25% of Tippecanoe's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Turner, who scored 5 points along with 3 steals.
Troy now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Tippecanoe, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Troy will head out on the road to face off against Greenville at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Greenville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 last Saturday. As for Tippecanoe, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Xenia at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
