The Bishop Snyder Cardinals will challenge the First Coast Buccaneers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bishop Snyder has five straight wins, First Coast has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
Back in December of 2024, Bishop Snyder was able to grind out a solid victory over Ponte Vedra, taking the game 48-39.

Bishop Snyder's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Shelby Gaines led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Gaines is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Bryonna Grimes, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 15 points.
Bishop Snyder smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, First Coast took a blow against Oakleaf on Friday, falling 58-11. While losing is never fun, the Buccaneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 538th, while the Knights are ranked 237th).
Bishop Snyder will have to keep a close watch on Aray Bell and Halima Saad, a pair of players who had a big impact on First Coast's prior game. Bell posted eight points in addition to six rebounds and three steals, while Saad put up two points.
Bishop Snyder's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.7 points per game. As for First Coast, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Bishop Snyder has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 31.5 boards per game. However, it's not like First Coast struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.8 rebounds.
