The West Orange Warriors will square off against the Dr. Phillips Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (West Orange 10.4, Dr. Phillips 12.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
Dr. Phillips will be up against a hot West Orange squad: the team just extended their winning streak to five. The Warriors walked away with a 21-14 win over Ocoee on Friday. The victory almost wasn't to be: the Warriors were down 14-0 in the second quarter.
West Orange's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Yuto Kawamura-Johnson led the charge by picking up 41 receiving yards and one score, while also punching in one rushing score.
West Orange's run defense was locked in: Ocoee could only muster 2.9 yards per carry. The team can thank Nolan Turner for the heroic effort on defense: he. Sadly, that's becoming something of a trend for West Orange; they were averaging 4.6yards per carry per game earlier this season, but in their last three games they've fallen to only 3.6 per game.
