The Manchester Flying Dutchmen will head out to challenge the Addison Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Manchester has three straight wins, Addison has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Manchester came out on top against Napoleon on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run first inning. The Flying Dutchmen took their matchup against the Pirates 10-6. With that victory, the Flying Dutchmen brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.

Neil Gebhardt made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.
In other batting news, Michael Navitskis was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That double was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Pauly, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Addison couldn't beat Hanover-Horton on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fifth inning. The Panthers came up short against the Comets, falling 15-4.
Addison saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Wright, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Josh Ray was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Manchester now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Addison, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
Manchester's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's game. The Flying Dutchmen have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Addison, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Manchester continue to outrun the ball?
