The Lamar Warriors will be playing at home against the Central Arkansas Christian Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Lamar had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They secured a 27-21 W over Clinton.
Caleb Green was his usual excellent self, rushing for 124 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and also throwing for 77 yards and a touchdown. Green was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 62 yards.
Meanwhile, Central Arkansas Christian stacked a fourth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard two weeks ago. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Dover 60-12 on the road.
Lamar has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. As for Central Arkansas Christian, their victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-2.
Everything came up roses for Lamar against Central Arkansas Christian in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 as the squad secured a 59-28 win. Will Lamar repeat their success, or does Central Arkansas Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
