The Galena Pirates pushed their score all the way to 63 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 78-63 fall against Pecatonica. While losing is never fun, Galena can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 257th, while Pecatonica is ranked 23rd).
Despite the loss, Galena still got an impressive performance from Connor Glasgow, who went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 31 points and 0 assists. The contest was Glasgow's 11th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Myles Schumacher, who scored 15 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Galena and nudges their season record down to 6-5. As for Pecatonica, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Galena will head out on the road to face off against Amboy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Amboy is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. Pecatonica's road trip will continue as they head out to face South Beloit at 5:30 p.m. on December 19th.
