The Laurens Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 69-59 to Greer. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Laurens in their matchups with Greer: they've now lost five in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Laurens lost, one person who can't be blamed is Keilaund Singleton. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Singleton has scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Greer to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isaiah Henry, who scored 18 points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that Henry scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amare Anderson, who scored 19 points along with two steals.
Laurens has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season. As for Greer, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Laurens will take on Riverside at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Riverside is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road. As for Greer, they will be playing at home against Wade Hampton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wade Hampton has now lost 14 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 22.
