The Kettle Run Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight defeat. They lost to Skyline on the road by a decisive 67-50 margin. Kettle Run was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Kettle Run lost, one person who can't be blamed is Erin Porter. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 34% of Kettle Run's points, marking the tenth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Ava Prysock was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five steals.
Kettle Run has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Skyline, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kettle Run will take on the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sherando is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Skyline, they will play host again and welcome the Eagles, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
