The Wahoo Warriors entered their tilt with the Lincoln Lutheran Warriors with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Wahoo rang in the new year with a 63-51 victory over Lincoln Lutheran on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Wahoo also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wahoo to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dylan Simons, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Simons is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last four games he's played. Marcus Glock was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with seven rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Lincoln Lutheran lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ryan Hager. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points along with six assists. The contest was Hager's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jacob Duitsman, who scored 15 points.
Wahoo's win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2. As for Lincoln Lutheran, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-3.
Wahoo will be playing in front of their home fans against Blair on Tuesday. Blair will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 85th, while Wahoo is ranked eighth). As for Lincoln Lutheran, they will head out on the road to face off against Norris at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Norris knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully Lincoln Lutheran likes a good challenge.
