The Manor Mustangs''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 30-8 walloping at the hands of Granby. While losing is never fun, Manor can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 237th, while Granby is ranked 86th).
Even if they lost, Manor's defense sure didn't make it easy: Granby's QB was sacked six times before it was all said and done. Granby's QB won't forget Carlito Brown anytime soon given Brown sacked him six times.
Granby's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Drevyon Tharrington, who rushed for 72 yards and two touchdowns. Shaineek Wright was another key contributor, gaining 90 total yards and a touchdown.
Manor has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for Granby, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Manor will take on Churchland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Granby, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Maury at 7:00 p.m. Maury is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
