Sheridan came into Thursday's matchup having lost 26 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the Aurora West College Prep Academy Spartans by a score of 59-48 on Thursday. The Rams' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Sheridan was led to victory by Gabriel Hernandez and Jason Medrano. Hernandez dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten boards, while Medrano almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine assists. Hernandez is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tadeo Garcia, who posted three points in addition to five rebounds and three blocks.

Sheridan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive boards in six consecutive games.

Sheridan's win ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-6. As for Aurora West College Prep Academy, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Sheridan will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bruce Randolph at 7:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025. Aurora West College Prep Academy also won't see the court for a while: their next contest is against Golden View Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
