The New Richmond Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Batavia Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully New Richmond focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Monday.
Last Monday, New Richmond was beaten by Goshen 72-30. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for New Richmond in their matchups with Goshen: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the loss, New Richmond had strong showings from Kiera Kirk, who scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds, and Sydney Miller, who scored 5 points along with 8 rebounds. Kirk scored a full 36.7% of New Richmond's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Even though Batavia has not done well against Mariemont recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Batavia secured a 57-53 W over Mariemont. The win made it back-to-back wins for Batavia.
Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy's victory bumped their season record to 0-0 while New Richmond's defeat dropped theirs to 0-1.
Things could have been worse for New Richmond, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 50-31 loss to Batavia in their previous matchup back in January. Can New Richmond avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
