The Center Roughriders stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They breezed by Carthage at home to the tune of 74-34. Winning may never get old, but Center sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Center's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tim Johnson, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Johnson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Jimmarion (Ja) Smith was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Center has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season. As for Carthage, they dropped their record down to 3-17 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Center does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Carthage, they will be playing at home against Chapel Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chapel Hill knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten contests -- so hopefully Carthage likes a good challenge.
