Leavitt won the last time they faced Lincoln Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Hornets blew past the Eagles 20-1. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.
Hailey Cyr made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Cyr was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Leavitt got a massive performance out of Gabby Smith, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave Smith a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaeley Tremblay, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with four runs and two RBI.
Leavitt hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive matches.
Leavitt's record is now 12-1. As for Lincoln Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
