Lone Jack's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Butler as Lone Jack made off with a 9-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mules.
Kaylee Felix made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over seven innings pitched. Felix was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tayvia Hook, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Sophia Randolph was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last matchup, Concordia made sure to put some runs up on the board against Windsor on Tuesday. Concordia was the clear victor by a 15-5 margin over Windsor. Considering the Fighting Orioles have won three contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Lone Jack, Concordia also got a great game from a two-way player: Karleigh Wilckens. She struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Those six strikeouts gave Wilckens a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Ava Mueller was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Olivia Hemme, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.
Concordia was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
Lone Jack now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Concordia, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
