In what's become a running theme this season, the Highland Huskies gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They really took it to Brush for the full four quarters, racking up a 85-43 victory on the road. Winning may never get old, but Highland sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Sawyer Morgan was his usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 23 points, 15 rebounds, and 11 assists. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jacob Wares, who scored 21 points along with four steals.
Brush's loss came despite strong showings from Payson Poland and Edgar Ortiz. Poland scored 12 points, while Ortiz scored eight points.
Highland is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Brush, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-13.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Highland will take on the Trojans at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Brush, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
