If the Torrington Raiders were riding high off their 60-16 takedown of the Derby Red Raiders last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Torrington received a tough blow on Tuesday as they fell 54-40 to Watertown. Torrington was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Watertown apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.
Despite the loss, Torrington still got an impressive performance from Haley Burger, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds. The game was Burger's third in a row with at least ten points.
Torrington's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Watertown, their win bumped their record up to 1-2.
Torrington will head out on the road to face off against Woodland Regional on Thursday. Watertown will be home for the holidays to greet Holy Cross at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
