Baseball Recap: Williams Takes a Loss

Williams was the 9-7 winner over Kingman Academy when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The Williams Vikings fell just short of the Kingman Academy Tigers by a score of 8-6 on Wednesday.

Aiden Uebel and Jace Maebe stepped up to the plate in a big way. Uebel scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3, while Maebe scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-4. Maebe is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Rigo, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Williams' loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Kingman Academy, they pushed their record up to 5-4-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Williams will face off against Hayden at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hayden's pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so Williams' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Kingman Academy, they will square off against Kingman at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kingman knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Kingman Academy likes a good challenge.
