Bradley-Bourbonnais is 1-9 against Lincoln-Way Central since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Boilermakers will host the Knights at 4:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Bradley-Bourbonnais 3.8, Lincoln-Way Central 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Bradley-Bourbonnais and Andrew meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. The Boilermakers walked away with an 11-8 win over the Thunderbolts. With that victory, the Boilermakers brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
Lydia Hammond was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

Meanwhile, Lincoln-Way Central had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Eagles. That's two games straight that the Knights have won by just one run.
Like Bradley-Bourbonnais, Lincoln-Way Central also got a great game from a two-way player: Lisabella Dimitrijevic. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 16 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Dimitrijevic was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Teagan Berkshire, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Ellie McLaughlin, who went 3-for-4 with one run.
Lincoln-Way Central's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Bradley-Bourbonnais, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-5.
Both Bradley-Bourbonnais and Lincoln-Way Central just can't seem to miss. The Boilermakers have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.4 hits per game. However, it's not like Lincoln-Way Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.8 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
