King Academy (Batesburg, S.C.) didn't let up as Saturday's game came to a close, scoring 16 in the fourth quarter to seal a 40-16 victory over
Laurens Academy (Laurens, S.C.).
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Price Carpenter in the second quarter, the Knights led 16-8 at the half.
King Academy expanded its lead to 16 points entering the fourth quarter. KA scored two times in the third, including once on a defensive touchdown.
With the win the Batesburg school extended its winning streak to seven games. King Academy defeated Greenwood Christian 38-16 last week.
The Knights came into the game allowing 15.0 points per game.
A 58-38 King Academy victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The loss comes after Laurens Academy defeated Christian Academy 36-30 last week.
In a non-conference game next week King Academy (7-0) takes on Pee Dee Academy, and Laurens Academy (2-3) will go up against Palmetto Christian Academy also in a non-conference game.
