Wilson Area's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Catasauqua 12-0. Considering the Warriors have won four matchups by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Abymarie Colon was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Tessa Fredericks was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Wilson Area was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Catasauqua only posted a batting average of .000.
Meanwhile, Saucon Valley came up short against Notre Dame-Green Pond on Friday, falling 12-2. The Panthers have struggled against the Crusaders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
Saucon Valley saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Savannah Schlegel, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Saucon Valley's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-4. As for Wilson Area, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-4.
Saucon Valley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Wilson Area hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .329. It's a different story for Saucon Valley, though, as they've only averaged .243. Will they be able to contain Wilson Area's hitters?
