Quilcene is 8-0 against Crescent since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Quilcene Rangers will head out on the road to face off against the Crescent Loggers at 5:45 p.m.
Quilcene's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by Rainier Christian on the road and fell 45-18.
Meanwhile, Crescent came tearing into Friday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 41 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 44-33 victory over Ocosta.
Crescent's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ciara Cargo-Acosta led the charge by scoring 16 points along with three blocks. The match was Cargo-Acosta's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Audrey Gales was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Quilcene bumped their record down to 0-1 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Crescent, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
Quilcene strolled past Crescent when the teams last played back in January of 2020 by a score of 40-26. Does Quilcene have another victory up their sleeve, or will Crescent turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
