Cannelton came out on top against Shoals on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run third inning. The Bulldogs had just enough and edged out the Jug Rox 16-15. The Bulldogs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
South Central's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Cannelton, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
Everything went South Central's way against Cannelton when the teams last played back in May of 2018, as South Central made off with a 24-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rebels since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
