Basketball Game Preview: Glen Iris Baptist Swordsmen vs. East Central HomeSchool Patriots

The Glen Iris Baptist Swordsmen will square off against the East Central HomeSchool Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Glen Iris Baptist comes in on six and East Central HomeSchool on three.

Glen Iris Baptist is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They strolled past Pineview Christian with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 78-59. Given the Swordsmen's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Warriors are ranked 265th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Joshua Everett continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 42 points and three steals. Those 42 points gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Elliot Dickey, who posted 11 points.

Meanwhile, East Central HomeSchool hadn't done well against Wiregrass recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. East Central HomeSchool came out on top against Wiregrass by a score of 69-57.

Glen Iris Baptist pushed their record up to 14-1 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 25.8 points. As for East Central HomeSchool, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.

Glen Iris Baptist strolled past East Central HomeSchool in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 by a score of 56-39. Will Glen Iris Baptist repeat their success, or does East Central HomeSchool have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
