The Banff Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 12th straight loss. They were beaten by Angleton Christian 70-38. Banff found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 17 to ten on offense.
Several Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Martin Cook, who scored eight points along with 14 rebounds and three blocks. Cook is crushing the rebound category: he's posted at least nine every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Vinnie Chu, who scored seven points along with six assists and five rebounds.
It was another big night for Graham Rosa, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and 14 rebounds for Angleton Christian. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rosa has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Carter Smith, who almost dropped a triple-double on 15 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists.
Banff's loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Angleton Christian, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Banff will face off against the at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Cornerstone Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Friday. As for Angleton Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge the Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
