The Mayfield Panthers are taking a road trip to  face off against the Johnstown Sir Bills  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Mayfield is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54  points per game  this season.
Mayfield is headed into the  matchup out to prove that what happened against Galway  on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Mayfield came up short against  Galway, falling  67-47. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from  Brianna Iannuzzi, who  posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jamie Danforth, who  had ten  points.
 Meanwhile, Johnstown had to suffer through a   66-29 loss at the hands of Coxsackie-Athens. While losing is never fun, the Sir Bills can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings  (they are ranked 231st, while the Riverhawks are ranked 37th).
 Johnstown dropped their record down to 2-3 with the  defeat, which was their 11th straight  on the road dating back to last season. As for Mayfield, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
 Everything came up roses for Mayfield against Johnstown in their previous meeting  back in December of 2022, as the  squad secured  a  72-8 win. In that  contest, Mayfield amassed a halftime lead of  40-5, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat  on Friday.
