Kelliher/Northome is 0-10 against the Panthers since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Kelliher/Northome Mustangs are on the road again and plays the Cass Lake-Bena Panthers at 7:15 p.m. on February 6th. Kelliher/Northome will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings (they are ranked 371st, while the Panthers are ranked 92nd).
Kelliher/Northome won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They took a serious blow against Win-E-Mac, falling 87-42.
Meanwhile, Cass Lake-Bena came tearing into Thursday's match with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Red Lake by a score of 94-81. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Kelliher/Northome's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Cass Lake-Bena, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-8.
Kelliher/Northome was taken down by the Panthers 101-39 when the teams last played back in January. Can Kelliher/Northome avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
