The Greenfield/Northwestern Tigers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Edinburg 87-63. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Greenfield/Northwestern's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dylan Pembrook, who scored 21 points along with six assists and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrett Costello, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and seven assists.
Greenfield/Northwestern is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season. As for Edinburg, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greenfield/Northwestern on the road again on Tuesday and play against Carrollton at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. As for Edinburg, they will take on Lutheran at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Lutheran is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
