The Central Heights Blue Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hemphill Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Central Heights is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
Last Tuesday, Central Heights was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 45-39 to the Lumberjacks.
Meanwhile, Hemphill was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 54-49 to the Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, Hemphill can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1062nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 426th).
Central Heights dropped their record down to 5-14 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Hemphill, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season.
Central Heights won a match that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, slipping by the Hornets 64-63. Will Central Heights repeat their success, or do the Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
