Basketball Recap: Jayda Alofipo's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Crimson Cliffs over Desert Hills

Crimson Cliffs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. The contest between them and the Desert Hills Thunder didn't end well, with the Crimson Cliffs Mustangs falling 62-47. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Thunder earlier this season, when they won 51-49.

Crimson Cliffs' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayda Alofipo, who posted ten points and five steals. Those five steals gave Alofipo a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Josie Myers, who put up 16 points and seven rebounds.

Crimson Cliffs' loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Desert Hills, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crimson Cliffs has already played their next matchup (against Dixie), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
