Melanie Hughes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up 11 Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Isabella Christensen, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Samantha Marquez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Doral Academy Red Rock and Legacy have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Saturday. The Dragons came out on top against the Longhorns by a score of 8-5. The victory continues a trend for the Dragons in their matchups with the Longhorns: they've now won seven in a row.

Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Basic hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .380. However, it's not like Doral Academy Red Rock struggles in that department as they've averaged .352. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
