South Adams' recent rough patch got a bit rougher after their third straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 63-49 to Woodlan. South Adams has struggled against Woodlan recently, as their game on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
South Adams might have lost, but man, Macy Pries was a machine: she scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. That was a full 49% of South Adams' points, marking the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Liz Gerber, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Mississinewa put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Elwood 41-10 on the road. The victory was just what Mississinewa needed coming off of a 63-27 defeat in their prior game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mississinewa to victory, but perhaps none more so than Amiyaa Parr-Inman, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jaci Crick, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
South Adams has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for Mississinewa, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-9.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: South Adams have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 25.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Mississinewa struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.4 rebounds per game.
