Cascade is 9-1 against Forrest since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Cascade Champions will head out on the road to take on the Forrest Rockets at 7:30 p.m. Cascade is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Tuesday, things could have been worse for Cascade, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 62-47 loss to Cannon County. While losing is never fun, Cascade can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while Cannon County is ranked 120th).
Meanwhile, Forrest lost to Grundy County on the road by a decisive 65-49 margin on Friday. Forrest has not had much luck with Grundy County recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite their loss, Forrest saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Ben Villazon, who scored 16 points along with two blocks, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Tristan Goad, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Cascade has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Forrest, their loss dropped their record down to 3-16.
Cascade skirted past Forrest 39-36 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Will Cascade repeat their success, or does Forrest have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
