The Peak to Peak Pumas stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They breezed by The Academy at home to the tune of 55-23. The victory was familiar territory for Peak to Peak who now have six in a row.
Alexandra Eschmeyer was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it 17 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Peak to Peak's points. Charley Miller was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven assists and three steals.
Rylyn Romero and Lilly Millan certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Romero scored ten points along with five steals, while Millan scored eight points. Romero has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played.
Peak to Peak pushed their record up to 14-3 with that victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. As for The Academy, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.
Peak to Peak will head out on the road to take on Stargate School at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Stargate School comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last eight games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for The Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Kent Denver at 5:30 p.m. Kent Denver has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 201 points over their last three contests.
