Platteview and Platte Valley are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Trojans will host Platte Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Platteview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Platteview didn't have quite enough to beat Hastings and fell 5-4. The Trojans haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Nick Clark was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. What's more, he gave up only three walks, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2025.
At the plate, Wyatt Wilson made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.
Meanwhile, Platte Valley waltzed into their game on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Falcons. That looming 12-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Platte Valley yet this season.
Nolan Roberts looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Wave Cerny was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Bennett Kush, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI.
Platte Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Douglas County West only posted an OBP of .346.
Platte Valley's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Platteview, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
Platteview got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Platte Valley by a conclusive 11-3 score. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do Platte Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
