On Friday, the Pinedale Wranglers faced the Lyman Eagles in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Pinedale enjoyed a cozy 65-49 win over Lyman. The win was nothing new for Pinedale as they're now sitting on four straight.
It was another big night for Elyn Bowers, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. She hasn't dropped below 19 points for five straight games. Alyxis White was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Lyman's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Payton Anderson, who scored nine points along with four blocks. Anderson continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of BriLee Bradshaw, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds.
Pinedale's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Lyman, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.
Pinedale won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lander Valley at 2:00 p.m. on February 10th. Pinedale has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 465 points over their last seven matchups. As for Lyman, they will head out on the road to face off against Powell at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Wyoming (Powell is ranked tenth, while Lyman is ranked 19th).
