Gordo had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Sipsey Valley Bears 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Green Wave have posted against the Bears since March 8, 2019.

Gordo's victory bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Sipsey Valley, they dropped their record down to 11-13 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Gordo will venture away from home to square off against Carbon Hill at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sipsey Valley, they will head out to take on American Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
