Nevada Union has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against The Oakmont Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Friday, Nevada Union lost to Placer at home by a decisive 26-8 margin.
Meanwhile, Oakmont's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They and Lincoln were almost perfectly matched up, but Oakmont suffered an agonizing 21-20 defeat.
Despite the defeat, Oakmont saw an underclassman step up: Jayden Beattie picked up 129 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Beattie was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 69 yards.
Nevada Union's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 3-5. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.25 points per game. As for Oakmont, they now have a losing record at 3-4-1.
