After losing to the Canon City Tigers the last time they met, The Classical Academy Titans decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Classical Academy was the clear victor by a 50-30 margin over Canon City. The victory made it back-to-back wins for The Classical Academy.
The Classical Academy had a senior duo take command as Alaina Bonacquista scored 22 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals and Mairin Carpenter scored 8 points along with 4 steals.
Canon City's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kristyn Barnes, who scored 10 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexi Till, who scored 4 points along with 7 steals.
The Classical Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Canon City, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
The Classical Academy will take on Pueblo East at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Canon City, they will head out on the road to face off against Glenwood Springs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
