West Perry proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 21) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 28-27 victory over the East Pennsboro Panthers. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered a 35-14 loss the last time these two teams met.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Elijah Shank, who rushed for 84 yards and one score, and also caught one touchdown. East Pennsboro also got a significant boost from Ryan Potts, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 81 yards.
West Perry's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for East Pennsboro, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 4-2.
