The Homer Knights fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Omaha Nation Chiefs on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 76-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chiefs. Even though they lost, Homer's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 51.9 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Despite the loss, Homer had strong showings from Alexandra Albrecht, who scored 30 points along with four steals, and Jocelyn Hightree, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds. Albrecht scored a full 44.1% of Homer's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Janessa Overgaard, who scored four points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, Homer were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
This is the second loss in a row for Homer and nudges their season record down to 3-5. As for Omaha Nation, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.
