It was a good run, but the Our Lady of Lourdes Warriors unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Sunday. They took a serious blow against Catholic Central, falling 85-50. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Our Lady of Lourdes has scored all season.
Leading Catholic Central to victory were Darien Moore and Sei'Mir Roberson. Moore scored 28 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Roberson went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and 6 assists. Roberson continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Xaul Arroyo was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Our Lady of Lourdes' defeat dropped their record down to 8-1. As for Catholic Central, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.
Our Lady of Lourdes will head out on the road to face off against La Salle Institute at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. La Salle Institute will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Catholic Central will take on Cobleskill-Richmondville at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Cobleskill-Richmondville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 670th, while Catholic Central is ranked sixth).
