On Tuesday, Glendale came up short against the Cougars and fell 55-43. While losing is never fun, Glendale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 638th, while the Cougars are ranked 273rd).
Glendale lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Joey Kitko, who scored 14 points along with three steals. Kitko is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Landen Mcgarvey was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
North Star was led to victory by Brady Weimer and Andy Retassie. Weimer scored 21 points, while Retassie scored 14 points along with seven assists and four steals. Retassie is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Smith, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and three steals.
Glendale has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for North Star, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-5.
Glendale will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Star, they will head out on the road to square off against the Red Raiders at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Meyersdale is out to stop a ten-game streak of losses at home.
