The Wallace Wildcats won the last time they faced the Maxwell Wildcats, and things went their way on Thursday too. Wallace came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 41-34. The squad ran away with 31 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the victory.
Kendyl Flaming had a dynamite game for Wallace, scoring 18 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Kaley Sauser, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Despite the loss, Maxwell still got an impressive performance from Jocelyn Cheek, who scored ten points along with four blocks and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Miller, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Wallace and bumps their season record up to 7-11. As for Maxwell, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
Wallace's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on January 30th. Hopefully Brady focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Saturday. As for Maxwell, they will be playing at home against the Plainsmen at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Perkins County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Thursday.
